When Alex asked me to create something to celebrate the release of his book, he said “Do anything you want and have fun.” I selected the chapter “Summer of Women” about the USA Women’s Basketball Team at the Atlanta Olympics as the jumping off point. Then I took some far out liberties with the open assignment (maybe too far out). I wanted to blend my love for the Atlanta Olympics with my love for Grateful Dead - specifically the bootleg tees you’ll find on the lot at one of their shows. My favorite part in the design was rendering Izzy in the famous poses of the Dead’s iconic dancing bears. Hope you like it!
